THE TRUNK AND THE CHAIR: STILL // UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, Copenhagen. 2013.

The chair is made as a consequence of two contradictory characteristics; the static in the form of the traditional chair and the constant movement in the form of the trunk. The conflict between the fixed ('still') and transitory (‘until further notice’) gives the chair its own identity, and leads to a shift where the temporary becomes permanent - and the permanent becomes temporary.
